Not all super heroes wear capes!

A huge thank you to students from Rosehill School who collect litter in their local Papakura parks as part of their fitness programme.

The students go out every day, Monday to Thursday for 20-30 minutes, to walk the local parks and collect rubbish.

The Beautification Trust has provided them with litter grabbers, gloves and bags and has arranged for Citycare to drop bins off to them to support with litter disposal.

The school group also take any recycling they find to the Waiuku Community Recycling Centre. What a wonderful example of community empowerment, leadership and upskilling around waste management!

If you have a school, church, youth group or workplace that would like to also contribute to your community, get in touch to find out how we can help you. You can borrow tools from our new Community Tool Library and the Trust’s Tiaki Fund offers environmental and beautification project cost grants of up to $1,000.
