Eye on Nature School Days
Monday 16 - Thursday 19 March 2026 | Auckland Botanic Gardens
Eye on Nature School Days is the Beautification Trust's annual environmental education event for South and East Auckland primary schools.
This free event empowers tamariki to become environmental heroes of the future, with hands-on activities and engaging lessons to connect with te taiao and learn how to be more sustainable in everyday life.
Over the course of four days, nearly 1,500 students get stuck in with interactive lessons and hands-on learning experiences delivered by our expert programme partners.

Eye on Nature 2026 Theme: Ka tipu tahi taatou – Together We Grow
Ka tipu tahi taatou – Together We Grow is about caring for te taiao by working together. When we connect with our local community, our actions have greater impact. In a time when many people feel separated, coming together to look after the environment matters more than ever.
By sharing ideas, supporting each other, and taking action as a group, we can protect the places we love and build a healthier future for all.
We will explore questions such as:
-
Why does working with my community matter when caring for nature?
-
What are the ways my community can take action for nature?
-
How can I support others to care for the environment in practical ways?
When we grow together, the world around us grows too.
