The Manurewa Community Recycling Centre is a place of community connection, a destination for learning and most importantly where practical actions can be taken to reduce waste to landfill by reusing, repurposing and recycling as much as possible.

What we accept

We are a small recycling centre and therefore space determines what we can accept and recycle. Our focus is on good quality household items that can be reused, repurposed, upcycled, and recycled through partnership programmes.

Please note: We're experiencing a high volume of clothing donations at the moment. To assist us in handling these donations more effectively, we're asking each person to please limit their clothing donations to just one bag.

Prices

Household items in good working condition are free to drop off (excludes e-waste, whiteware & damaged goods). All items will be assessed on-site by our staff. Not all items can be accepted. We can offer advice about where to dispose of goods we cannot accept.

Flattened cardboard - small household quantities	Free - Limits apply
Textiles (e.g. damaged clothing, towels, sheets) - must be clean, no underwear or swimwear	$2 per kg
CDs, VHS tapes, records	50c each
Clean polystyrene packaging, limit 1 bag per customer	$5 per rubbish sack
Scrap metal - all types from household, clean, including metal jar lids	Free - small enough for one person to safely handle
Car Tyres and 4x4 (inner metal part/ rim hub must be removed)	$6-$8
Damaged bicycles	$5
Dining tables	By arrangement
#5 PP Plastics (plastic outdoor furniture, kids paddling pools/sand pit, #5 symbol shown)	Free - limits apply
Plastic storage crate/baskets	Free - limits apply

Household appliances

Small (e.g. kettle, toaster, hairdryer, irons, food processors, fans and heaters)	$3
Medium (e.g. microwaves, vacuum cleaner, oil heaters, dehumidifiers, sewing machine)	$8
Large whiteware: Fridges, ovens & stoves, laundry machines, dishwashers	$25 by arrangement, please call or email in advance.

Batteries

Car bodies & parts
Large truck/tractor tyres
BBQs
Motorised lawn mowers
Waste of any kind:
- Household rubbish
- Garden waste & fill
- Waste oil
- Veterinary or medical waste
- Timber products (eg particle board, MDF, plywood, etc)
- Construction & demolition
- Paint/Paint Tins
- Liquid waste
- Asbestos
- Hazardous or odorous waste

Reuse Store

Saving items from landfill and giving them a new life

Reusable, repaired, repurposed and upcycled - you can find all sorts of goodies at our Reuse Store. What's more, all proceeds from the Reuse Store support the Beautification Trust's mahi in South & East Auckland communities.

Come in and find a bargain on second hand books, clothes, toys, kitchenware, homeware, furniture, art & craft supplies and much more!
