Join the Boomer Shed
The Boomer Shed is an inclusive community shed for both men and women over 50 in South Auckland. Since 2015, the Boomer Shed has offered a space for older people to get stuck into a range of community projects and their own projects while socialising and meeting new people. Click here to become a member.
Located in a fantastic space at the Beautification Trust in Manurewa, the Boomer Shed is where positive ageing communities can feel welcomed, safe, valuable, independent, connected and can contribute to the communities they live in. Plus, we have a lot of fun here too!
The facilities include a fully equipped craft room, semi-commercial kitchen, impressive woodwork and engineering shed, a technology room, community garden and social space.
The Boomer Shed is open Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday, 9:30 am – 12:00 pm
Beginner woodwork classes are on Wednesday, 9:30 am - 12:00 pm
Mobile, tablet and computer classes are on Tuesday & Friday, 9:30 am - 12:30 pm
We provide a scrumptious morning tea at around 10:30 am, with home-made scones, tea and coffee.
Try two sessions free!
Try out the Boomer Shed for two free sessions! If you enjoy it (which we're sure you will), you can become a member for $85 per year (only $1.63 a week), or a $2 donation towards each session. We offer this low cost on the basis that members volunteer five hours of their time per month towards community projects.

If the fresh scones weren't bribery enough, our Boomers are a bubbly bunch and love forming new friendships. We look forward to seeing some new faces! Get in touch with our Boomer Shed manager, Stacey, to learn more or sign up for your two free sessions.
