Crispy Soya Chunks Fry

TIME TO MAKE

20 minutes

SERVINGS

2 persons

Ingredients

  • 1 cup soya chunks

  • 1/2 cup curd (alternatively use buttermilk or yoghurt)

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 cup corn flour

  • 1 tablespoon coriander powder

  • 1 tablespoon red chili powder

  • 1 tablespoon chaat masala

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

  • 1 tablespoon salt

  • coriander leaves to garnish

Method

  • Wash soya chunks thoroughly and soak them in water for 10 minutes

  • Meanwhile, in a bowl, add curd, all-purpose flour, corn flour, coriander powder, red chili powder, lemon juice and salt. Mix well. You can also add some freshly chopped coriander to enhance the flavour.

  • Squeeze out all the water from the soaked soya chunks and add them to the bowl. Mix well so that the soya chunks are evenly coated with the other mixed ingredients.

  • In a pan, heat oil on high heat for deep-fry.

  • Once the oil is hot, carefully add the coated soya chunks to the pan and deep-fry them until crispy and golden brown.

  • Once crispy, transfer the fried soya chunks to a plate.

  • Top the crispy soya chunks bites with avocado, salsa and coriander.

  • Sprinkle chaat masala over the top, garnish with coriander leaves, and serve hot.
