Quick & Easy Breadcrumbs

TIME TO MAKE
20 minutes
Ingredients
Half loaf of stale bread
3 tbs oil
1 pinch of salt, to taste
Optional seasonings, mix and match to taste:
garlic powder
red pepper flakes or chilli flakes
parmesan
lemon zest
herbs and spices
freshly cracked pepper
chicken salt
cinnamon sugar
cocoa powder
Method
Rip bread into chunks and add to food processor. Pulse until as fine as preferred. If you don't have a food processor, cut into small cubes to make croutons instead! The method will be exactly the same.
Heat oil on medium heat in a large skillet or pan.
Add in breadcrumbs and salt and continuously mix with a spatula until golden and toasty. Do not let darken too much or it will taste burnt.
Once golden, pour the crisp crumbs into a bowl and toss with any optional seasonings of choice until seasoning is evenly distributed.
Allow to cool completely in the bowl.
Store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
Serving Suggestion
Top baked meat, casseroles, salad, or pasta for an extra crispy texture to your meal!
