Need help with tech? Meet the Digi-Coach at Beautification Trust

Struggling to navigate a new phone, set up an email or understand the latest apps? You’re not alone! Now you don’t have to figure it out by yourself either.

The Beautification Trust is excited to welcome Gimhan, a Digi-Coach to support the community with everyday digital needs. Until Friday 17th July, locals can access free, friendly, drop-in help with everything from smartphones and tablets to online services and apps.

Gimhan is easy to spot in his bright blue vest and Digi-Coach flag between 10am-2pm, Tuesday to Friday.

What can the Digi-Coach help with?

Gimhan offers one-on-one support tailored to your needs, including –

  • Setting up and using phones or tablets

  • Learning how to use apps and email

  • Navigating online services

  • Building confidence with everyday technology

There’s also an opportunity to try out virtual reality (VR) and explore different work experiences, which is a unique and engaging way to learn about new possibilities.

Supporting our community

This initiative is part of a wider work experience programme for jobseekers, supported by the Ministry of Social Development and delivered by the Digital Inclusion Alliance Aotearoa. By connecting skilled Digi-Coaches with the community, the programme helps build digital confidence while creating pathways into employment.

As Daniel Barthow, CEO of The Beautification Trust shares, “there’s a huge demand for digital support in our community and having a dedicated coach means we can help so many more people.”

Come along and give it a go

Whether you have a specific problem to solve, want to learn something new, or are simply curious about technology, Gimhan, our Digi-Coach is here to help.

Drop in, ask questions, and build your confidence one step at a time.
