7-year-old Jaxton is the Beautification Trust's youngest consistent pest trapping volunteer! Over the last 2 years, Jaxton has been building and setting pest traps with his dad for their backyard. His passion stems from wanting to protect skinks found in his garden.
Jaxton has recently taken on the role of Trap Master at the Jack Farrell Reserve in Pahurehure through the Beautification Trust, protecting, eggs, insects, and other native wildlife and plants from potential predators. Since he's started out, he's already caught 10 rats!
"I am proud that I am helping to keep all the birds and lizards safer by trapping the pest rats!" Jaxton tells us. We are so proud to support such a dedicated young volunteer to protect the environment and community.
Ka pai, Jaxton! You're an inspiration to the pest free community.
