Celebrating Recognition in 2025: Awards Season Highlights

We wrapped up 2025 feeling proud, energised and inspired, thanks to some big moments of recognition for our kaupapa and mahi.

2degrees Auckland Business Awards 2025

This year we were honoured to be named finalists in two categories for the South & East region: Employer of the Year and Excellence in Strategy and Planning. These awards are highly competitive, and it meant a lot to be recognised alongside some of the most innovative businesses in South and East Auckland.

We pulled names out of a hat to decide who from our team would head to the gala dinner. They had a blast representing the Trust on the night! While we didn’t take home the trophies this time, we honoured to be there as finalists and celebrated the wins of others, including our friends at Localised who took home the award for Excellence in Community Contribution.

As a for-purpose organisation, being part of this space is a big deal. It shows that good business and positive impact for people and planet go hand in hand.

Sustainable Business Awards 2025

In November, we joined the Sustainable Business Network’s annual awards night, celebrating the business community of changemakers working to create a thriving and climate-safe Aotearoa.

Our newly acquired business, Packaging Recyclers, was nominated for Excellence in Innovation. It was thrilling to see their mahi recognised so early in their journey with us, and a wonderful celebration of their environmental values which drew us together in the first place. A huge congratulations to the whole Packaging Recyclers crew.

The event was packed with inspiring conversations, and we were grateful to connect with others championing bold ideas to tackle the climate crisis. Huge mihi to the Sustainable Business Network for bringing us all together and spotlighting the courage it takes to lead change.

Ngaa mihi nui to everyone who’s supported our journey. Awards like these aren’t the goal, but they are a nice nod to the collective mahi we do with our communities, partners and team to protect te taiao and help people thrive.
