About the Event

Chat with a Conservation Advisor and learn how to control pests in your own backyard, plus get a free rat trap and pest trapping resources to take home.

Pests, especially rats, cause huge problems for us in South Auckland. By trapping them we can preserve the precious kai grown in our vege gardens and encourage more birds back into our gardens.

This free workshop is brought to you by Pest Free Urban South as part of the Beautification Trust’s Eye on Nature EcoFest, a free month-long festival for families/whānau to connect with the environment.

Bookings are recommended, as spaces are limited. Some spaces may be available to those without bookings on the day.

Our in-person events are held at the Eye on Nature EcoFest Hub on the central lawn at the Auckland Botanic Gardens. Click here for the location on Google Maps.

Covid-19 Safety

· All participants over 12 years of age must show a My Vaccine Pass to attend.

· Please wear a face mask and maintain social distancing.

· This workshop will take place under a large, open-sided stretch tent. This provides shade and rain cover, while also allowing airflow through the space.
