About the Event
⚠️UPDATE: New event date is now Sat 22nd Aug due to the wet weather forecast⚠️
It's planting season! 🌱
The Papakura Stream Halo Project has made a huge impact this year removing thousands of pest plants, and now we are stepping into a new area of restoration.
Join us for our first planting event, where we'll be enhancing the regeneration of this freshwater ecosystem by putting in 500 native plants along the awa. These plants will strengthen the stream bank, filter and clean the water, help mitigate flooding and provide crucial habitat for wildlife. All tools and equipment provided, with yummy kai at the end of the event to celebrate your efforts.
Let's show love for this special waterway together 💚
📍33 Holmes Road, Manurewa. Search for the blue tent!
Free parking along Holmes Road.
📅 10am - 12:30pm, Saturday 22nd August.
Due to some forecast wet weather and a number of key staff members down with the flu this week, we’ve decided to postpone the event by one week to Saturday 22nd August (instead of 15th August).
Please RSVP so we can estimate numbers and note down dietary requirements.
A big thank you to Manukau Harbour Forum for funding the plants for this event.
