Let’s Talk About the Election: Community Hangout & Screening

Come join us to hang out, have some snacks and learn more about the upcoming General Election!

With elections coming up, Community Think and Action Station are hosting two practical, conversational webinars to help you learn more about how elections work and to feel more confident when it comes to vote.

We’re hosting community screenings of both webinars at our Creator Space in Manurewa, giving our community a chance to watch and learn together. The first webinar looks at the basics of how our democratic system works, including answering questions like “What’s the difference between Parliament and Government?" or “What does delivering on an election promise actually look like?”

The second session gets into the nuts and bolts of becoming a confident voter, including topics such as strategic voting.

The webinars feature three guest speakers, each bringing different perspectives and experiences.

• Riana Te Ngahue (Ngāti Porou), lawyer and political communicator

• Sue Bradford, activist and former Green Party MP

• Andrew Geddis, public law academic

What to expect -

Arrive from 6:30pm to enjoy snacks, koorero and update your enrolment details. The webinar starts at 7pm.
