Leabank Mural Celebration

We invite you to celebrate the new mural at Leabank Park.

There will be league games happening in the park alongside the blessing of the mural and a free sausage sizzle.

The mural was sponsored by Auckland Council, as a way of preventing graffiti in the park and reflecting the local community to inspire civic pride. The design and concept for the mural was imagined by communities. Our Manurewa-based artist, Rangi Matthews, has incorporated the Marlins Club colours, V shape of the jersey, key words suggested by local people as well as kowhaiwhai patterns that represent the club and the community.
