About the Event

Every year, Kiwis send 157,398 tonnes of food to landfill, all of which could have  been eaten. Not only is wasting food costing us money, it is also bad for the environment.

Love Food Hate Waste has tips and recipes to help you reduce your food waste and save money.

This free workshop is brought to you by Love Food Hate Waste as part of the Beautification Trust’s Eye on Nature EcoFest, a free month-long festival for families/whānau to connect with the environment.

Bookings are recommended, as spaces are limited. Some spaces may be available to those without bookings on the day. The booking link will be available here shortly. Please check this page again soon.

Our in-person events are held at the Eye on Nature EcoFest Hub on the central lawn at the Auckland Botanic Gardens. Click here for the location on Google Maps.

Covid-19 Safety:

  • We encourage you to wear a face mask and maintain social distancing.
  • This event will take place under a large, open-sided stretch tent. This provides shade and rain cover, while also allowing airflow through the space.
