About the Event
Discover all you need to know about composting with Bokashi buckets and discover how easy it is.
Bokashi originated in Japan - the word Bokashi can be translated as ‘fermented organic matter’. Bokashi ‘pickles’ your food waste, unlike traditional composting where waste is allowed to decay. The Bokashi system produces nutrient-rich compost that you can dig into your garden.
This free workshop is brought to you by Compost Collective as part of the Beautification Trust’s Eye on Nature EcoFest, a free month-long festival for families/whānau to connect with the environment.
Bookings are recommended, as spaces are limited. Some spaces may be available to those without bookings on the day. The booking link will be available here shortly. Please check this page again soon.
Our in-person events are held at the Eye on Nature EcoFest Hub on the central lawn at the Auckland Botanic Gardens. Click here for the location on Google Maps.
Covid-19 Safety:
- We encourage you to wear a face mask and maintain social distancing.
- This event will take place under a large, open-sided stretch tent. This provides shade and rain cover, while also allowing airflow through the space.
