Role responsibilities
Marketing execution
Assist in developing and implementing marketing and media plans to further the success of the Trust’s programmes and services.

Implement campaigns leveraging both traditional (brochures, print advertising, direct mail, etc.) and digital (social media, digital advertising, websites, email, etc.) marketing tactics.

Liaise with graphic designers to provide clear creative briefs on collateral needs.

Complete basic design tasks and updating existing collateral using Canva and/or Adobe suite.

Liaise and coordinate any printing or promotional materials required for the Trust, including copywriting, editing and proof-reading.

Support any brand development projects as required.

Source and coordinate the timely delivery of promotional materials and merchandise.

Provide both directive for video and photography production to external supplies and execute basic video and photography internally as required.

Maintain the Trust’s image library and associated talent releases and indexing.
Social media
Maintain an engaging social media presence that supports the Trust’s mission.

Assist in developing and implementing the Trust’s social media strategy, content plan and posting calendar.
-
Develop and maintain a regular schedule of engaging content across Trust’s social media platforms – including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, LinkedIn, Neighbourly.

Monitor, moderate and respond to comments and messages from social media followers.
-
Measure results and optimize content for engagement and reach.

Keep updated and educated on social media developments, including audience trends, new features, platform updates and innovative social media marketing opportunities.
Digital communications
-
Update and maintain website content.
-
Ensure content is kept fresh and up to date, including copywriting and sourcing appropriate imagery.

Create and maintain interactive elements such as contact forms and menus.
-
Basic page layout changes using the drag and drop editor.
-
Create regular blog posts about recent news in the Trust and our communities.

Keep online event listings up to date.

Maintain the Trust’s domain properties.
-
Repurpose content used from reports and other sources for digital purposes.

Create and maintain the Trust’s monthly e-newsletter.
-
Source, collate and write engaging stories from the Trust and wider community, including accompanying photos and video.

Write and edit engaging copy that fits the Trust’s brand tone of voice.
-
Follow design guide/template to ensure a professional and consistent look and feel.

Maintain good open and click-through rates.
-
Report on campaign results to analyse growth and track long term trends
Storytelling and content creation

Showcase stories and content through relevant channels which build the profile of the Trust.

Source engaging and relevant story opportunities to promote the Trust’s programmes and services.

Create content in different formats (e.g. written, video, photographic) for a variety of channels, including popular social media platforms, blog and newsletter.

Review content generated by others and provide guidance to ensure it is consistent with the organisation’s brand and tone of voice.
Media
-
Support the Marketing and Communications Manager with media related tasks.
-
Write effective media releases and successfully pitch stories to relevant media channels.
-
Assist with responding to media enquiries in a timely and appropriate manner.
-
Build relationships with key media and influencers and share opportunities of media interest.
-
Monitor the Trust’s coverage and reach with regular tracking.
Funding & sponsorship
-
Assist in sourcing philanthropic funding opportunities for the Trust.
-
Coordinate the required information and documents, develop and submit funding applications.
-
Undertake accountability requirements outlined by each funder in a timely manner.
-
Assist in sourcing corporate sponsorship for the Trust.
-
Contribute to the development of the Trust corporate sponsorship programme.
-
Source appropriate corporates aligned with linkage, ability and interest principles.
-
Pitch to corporates for cash, goods and services in kind and volunteering support.
-
Ensure strong account management and retention of corporate partners.
Skills, Knowledge Personal Attributes and Experience Required

Tertiary qualification in Marketing or Communications, or equivalent industry experience
-
At least two years’ industry experience
-
A good understanding of South Auckland communities
-
Passionate about giving back to the community and protecting the environment
-
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-
Excellent grammar, proof reading and editing skills
-
A compelling storyteller, with the ability to create engaging and inspiring content
-
High level of attention to detail
-
Organised, efficient and able to manage own time and priorities
-
Able to cope under pressure and work to deadlines
-
Creative problem solving, use of initiative and thinking outside the box
-
Experience in creating engaging social media content across different platforms (e.g. Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn) including proficiency in video content creation using adobe software

Proficiency in digital design on Canva and Adobe platforms Confidence in using the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

Experience in working with a wide range of people effectively, with excellent collaboration and team work

Warm, friendly personality and sense of humour

Basic skills in te reo Māori and an understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi would be beneficial
-
Experience in website content management (e.g. Wix, Squarespace, Wordpress) would be beneficial
-
Experience in graphic design and using Adobe Suite software would be beneficial
