Community Compost
Compost from the community,
for the community
Papakura has a weekly kerbside collection of household food scraps which are made into compost. This compost can be ordered and collected from the Beautification Trust free of charge for South and East Auckland communities to use in their home gardens, schools and community gardens.
Pick up is at 38 Holmes Road, Manurewa. Order online using the form below and our team will be in touch to arrange a self-service collection time.
Special thanks to the Auckland Council Waste Solutions team for funding this project and to the fantastic coffee roasting businesses who have donated their used coffee sacks to use as compost bags.

Order your compost online
To be eligible for free community compost, you must plan to use the compost in South or East Auckland. You can order up to two bags of compost. One bag is approximately 40 litres.
To help us manage the large volume of requests, we ask that you fill your own bags of compost when you pick them up. If you would have difficulty filling your own bags, please let us know in advance so we can assist you.
Reusable bags will be provided for you to load your own compost. If you can, please bring your own dust mask, reusable gloves and shovel. We will have these items available if you don’t have your own.
Fill out the form below to request your compost. One of our team will be in touch to confirm your order and arrange a pick up time. Due to a high level of demand, there may be a delay in pick-up slots becoming available.
