Bike Hub Manurewa

Bike Hub Manurewa will be closed over Christmas from 4pm Saturday 21st December 2024, reopening 12pm Thursday 16th January 2025.

We're getting more people biking!

Bike Hub Manurewa welcomes anyone who is interested in riding a bike.

​

What we provide:

  • Free access to tools and advice on basic bike maintenance

  • Restored and safety-checked second-hand bikes for sale

  • Used and new bike parts and accessories

  • Safe cycling advice and guidance

​

​We're a community-based not-for-profit operation and our staff are assisted by enthusiastic volunteers. Our aim is to work alongside you to develop your skills and knowledge, so you can freely enjoy the benefits of cycling.

​

If you require a certified mechanical repair service for more significant fixes on your bike, we can point you in the right direction.

Got a bike?

Bring it in for advice and support about maintenance and basic repairs. We have parts available to purchase, including replacement cables, tyre tubes, brake pads and chains.​

Don't have a bike (yet)?

We offer a range of serviced reasonably priced second-hand bikes for sale or can provide advice about where you could find a new bike to suit your needs. We can also offer advice and support if you haven’t ridden a bike in a while or ever.

Bike Donations

Saving bikes from landfill and giving them a new life​

We welcome donated bikes and parts in reasonable condition that we restore and sell at low cost to help fund our service. Donated bikes can be dropped off at Bike Hub Manurewa during opening hoursWe currently do not have the capacity to pick up donated bikes.​

Learn More

The first Auckland Bike Hub opened in New Lynn in 2017 by EcoMatters and is going as strong as ever. Since its launch, Auckland Transport has partnered with a range of community organisations to operate a network of  13 bike hubs across Auckland, welcoming over 50,000 visitors and fixing over 17,000 bikes.

Bike Hub Manurewa is the 14th location, which launched on 14th November 2024.

Meet The Team

Reesh – Bike Hub Lead

Reesh is a Manurewa local high school teacher and has been on his bike ever since he could walk. He shares his passion for cycling with students, teaching them to ride, road safety, mountain biking, and bike maintenance and repair.

 

Committed to his Manurewa community, he aims to encourage locals to ditch their cars and get healthier and wealthier while also combating climate change.

​

In his free time, Reesh enjoys outdoor biking adventures with his wife and four children.

Mikey – Bike Hub Co-Ordinator

Mikey is a proud Manurewa local with a big passion for getting young people on their bikes and making sure they ride safely. 

 

Whether he's teaching tamariki and rangatahi about cycling or helping them fine-tune their wheels, Mikey's all about getting the community moving and having fun outdoors. When he’s not at the Bike Hub, you’ll find him hard at work with the Beautification Trust’s Environmental Support Team.

 

Mikey is a certified cat lover! In his spare time, he volunteers at a local cat rescue and fosters furry friends.
